Kyoya's Onyubeshi - Gift of Lords and Shoguns
Since the 1600s, for 400 years our family have combined the highest quality yuzu fruit, miso and rice together to produce our speciality, 'Onyubeshi.' The ruling Maeda family of Kaga Province presented our Onyubeshi as gifts to Shogun Tokugawa. At that time, they were just called 'yubeshi,' but L-ord Maeda was so pleased with them that he ordered our family to add the honorific prefix 'On-' to the name. We have proudly served them as 'Onyubeshi' ever since. Over the years, our family business has evolved from making sweets to selling Buddhist and Shinto ceremonial goods and candles, but we will never stop making and selling 'Onyubeshi' as our family has for generations.
Onyubeshi A traditional sweet made the same way it has been for centuries from yuzu citrus, miso and rice. It's delicate, salty-sweet and aromatic flavor is best enjoyed warm. Microwave it for 10 seconds or gently warm it over a flame until it becomes soft then enjoy a taste of history!
